Ego is the true enemy.  Ego will get us into more trouble than anyone we could label as an enemy ever could. Self-centeredness is a disease.  Get over myself and yourself. It's about others. We need to be our best yes, but ego has to stay in check.

It’s the ego that so often holds us back. Sometimes we think it’s fear, and maybe in part it is. But often it’s ego.  Scared to look bad. Scared of what people will think if we change our mind or if we make a mistake. It’s more about our ego being damaged than actual damage.  If the ego can be kept in check, internal limits can be erased. Often it’s ego holding us back.

Give credit to where it's due. Deflect praise but accept constructive criticism. That's a healthy formula to keep your ego in check.

Ego gets in the way. It’s best to leave your ego far behind you. As soon as you think you’re something, you set yourself up for a big fall. 

There’s no room for your ego. Your ego will crowd you out of places meant for you. Your ego is an unnecessary companion. It will weigh you down and ultimately drown you.
