Masters simplify things. Dabblers complicate it. Novices complicate it. When you've mastered something, you've simplified it in some way. Masters aren't intimidated by novices or doubters. Don't try and complicate things,  try and break them down into the most simple way possible.

I read a good tip today about New Years resolutions. It was suggested that instead of New Year resolutions, make resolutions for new skills to learn. That sounds like a great idea!

Efficiency is something exclusive to masters. When you master something you become efficient in it. Becoming efficient requires many, many repetitions though. Many give up before they become efficient because it requires too many reps. If you want to master something, make sure you really want to. Make sure you're passionate about it, or else you won't get through the steps to become efficient and a master at it.

Sometimes bigger is better. But sometimes it isn’t. Bigger expands the talent pool. But bigger can also water down the talent. Sizing up is a huge challenge and has to be done with the right skill sets in place. 

Yes, knowledge is power. If you're looking to hire someone, you want someone who has the knowledge. But a skill even more valuable is someone who can figure things out on their own. Ones who can self teach and problem solve. You learn how to problem solve and you will have a skill that many don't.

One of the most pertinent questions someone who has reasonably sorted themselves out should be asking themselves is, "what am I doing with my talents/skills?". Unrealized skills and talents is a painful thing to watch. We're given talents and skills to use and share with the world, to make it a better place. When we don't use them, we're robbing ourself and others.
