My Riffs

We’re so quick to judge things. But how do we know? That’s bad. Or that’s good. Well, we shall see.  Bad things have been redeemed and good things have been degraded. It’s wisest to wait and see rather than pronounce judgement. 

Be honest. Sometimes it’s a lot easier said than done.  And the hardest person to be honest to it ourselves.  We tend to lie to ourselves more than anybody else. Be it ego or fear, but we shy away from telling ourselves the truth. The most powerful thing we can do to have a good life it to tell ourselves the truth. To stop blaming external forces or circumstances and be honest with ourselves. 

We can't have it all. Career, family, friendships, personal development, play, these all have their place, but we can really only choose a couple to focus and proritize. And the ones we choose leaves the remainder to a degree neglected. Where you spend your time will show where your priorities are.  It's good to clearly know your priorities and ensure they are receiving enough of your focus.

Incremental, steady progress is exponential over time.  Daily get better. Just small steps. But constant. Don’t let down. Only get better. Will some backwards progress happen? Absolutely! But the mission remains the same. Only steps forward. And small steps are okay. 

My tone says it all. I can say the same sentence, adjust the tone and have totally different messages received and totally different outcomes. Words spoken in love do much more than words spoken to attack. The same words can attack or help. My tone (which comes from my motive and heart) is what changes the delivery and result.

We're always better together. Humans can literally only handle so much of being alone. In fact, loneliness is a literal ailment with physical repercussions.  Linking up with some good people is the life hack that reaps so many dividends. We're better together. Link up, inspire and learn from each other.

Simply put, we give up to soon. Nothing great comes without tenacity. Let that tenacity be tempered with wisdom. Wisdom to not waste time but to use it on building towards something great - even if it takes time.
