How do other people and situations get us mad and frustrated? For most of us, it could be far too often. One life hack to slow down on the frustrations at others is to learn to get curious. Here’s an example, someone cuts you off in traffic. Get curious, ask what could be going on in their life that would cause them to be so inconsiderate. Or maybe how could they have learned to be so inconsiderate. Somebody doesn’t communicate with you or not how you wanted? Get curious. What could have been going on in their day or their life that caused them to treat you that way? Come across an angry person? Wonder about what could have happened in their life to make them this way. If you stay curious, it makes things less personal and more about the person or situation you’re dealing with. Not to shift blame or responsibility, but to help yourself get less frustrated or angry. Everybody is dealing with more than we know. If we give them that grace, we will make dealing...
The future is nearly impossible to predict. We can make some good educated guesses though. Sometimes we will be right and sometimes we will be wrong. I've seen people destined for greatness fall short. I've seen people destined for nowhere good shock everyone and do great things. I've seen redemption, I've seen falls. Truth is truly stranger than fiction. You cannot predict the future. This isn't intended as negativity. It means, never give up on someone. And never give up on something. Believe in the worst case situations. Look to redeem the unredeemable. Don't assume the underdog won't win. Don't write anyone off, ever.
What's the value of knowing what you don't know? Not knowing all the information per se, but just being aware of the areas you don't know much about. More like knowing your weaknesses. Cause that could be almost as valuable a tool as knowing your strengths.
I'm a parent, and I want to provide the best possible life for my children. I've seen kids come from good and bad parents both, and end up the opposite of their parents. The means you can become good even when you've been taught bad. You can use the bad to learn good. You can also be taught good, but not appreciate it and choose bad. It seems the power is in the individual. It seems our desires eventually make their way out. So if we have an inner desire and it's not a good one, we have to internally shun it. If you feed that desire it will eventually come out. You don't have to repeat the bad you have received in your life. You can desire better and produce better. The good news is, the choice is yours.
