You will likely only go so far as your character will take you. Sometimes we're obsessed with the destination rather than what will carry us to the destination. Work on your vehicle (character) and the destination will be no problem.

Analogy alert! Boats have anchors. Retail spaces have anchor tenants. Buildings have a foundation that may be similar to an anchor. What are your anchors though? Most of us have a few things that anchor us. Those who don’t, will have trouble being stable. Find some anchors and tie yourself to them.

If history is written by the victors, who will write your story? On a personal level, the victor is either ourselves or circumstances. IF we allow them to, circumstances will write our history. But it doesn't have to be that way. WE can write our own history and not let circumstances dictate our history.

What constraints do you have? Because, those who have been successful worked through the same or similar contrasts and barriers. The difference for them is, they didn’t give up. Successful people were never given what they have. They overcame the same obstacles, constraints and barriers you are facing. There's a way though, find it.

Because something has always been done a certain way, doesn’t make it the way to move forward. Because something previously worked doesn’t make it the way to do things going forward. History should teach, not be something we attempt to carbon copy. When we get stuck on the historical methods we’ve always used, we limit our future. History should teach, not be repeated. We may say if it’s not broken don’t fix it. But if we don’t maintain and improve, it will break.

I read something yesterday that hadn't occurred to me before. In short it said if you're journeying toward something, that means you're journeying away from something. In essence if your heading somewhere new, you have to leave something behind. It is important to note what may be left behind when you're heading somewhere new. Heading somewhere new is cool and exciting, just make sure you know what will be left behind.
