I Dare You

This post is a copy + paste from Ashley T'neil Walea on her Instagram today (@ashleytneil):

So many things had happened to bring me to that point. A series of doors slammed in my face that left me feeling so hurt and so broken. Ten years of pouring myself into a job that I loved more than life - door closed.
The path I thought I was supposed to be on brought me to a dead end with no light at the end of the tunnel.
April 16, 2018, I stepped into a room clad with blue walls and white desks with two words written on the dry erase board - Be Essential.
Two years ago I began my journey with IBM. Fast forward to April 16, 2020 - I’m helping provide my set of clients - the Government, the Military, State Governments, Local Governments, Universities, and Hospitals - with the technology to combat COVID-19.
How am I thriving in a world where I never thought I would be in and still feel dismissed from the only world I thought I’d be in?

Joseph came to mind. He grew up part of an amazing family. He had the love of his father and of his brothers - until he started dreaming. That’s when the human nature took over. You can be well loved - you can be your father’s favorite - we will deal with that.... but start dreaming... and you have to go.
Joseph found himself in a world he never dreamed he would be in because his brothers rejected him. Dreams are difficult things to manage.
Joseph’s story is one of ups and downs but ultimately it was his dreams that kept him. You see, Joseph was accustomed to the language of dreams. Joseph had dreams. Joseph interpreted dreams. Joseph’s fluency in the language of dreaming is what ultimately saved his brothers. His dreams ended up healing a lifetime of hurts and setbacks. Dreams procured his family’s future.
If you’ve lost your job during this chaos, if you feel like the doors you always hoped for have closed, if you’re hurting and broken, I invite you to learn to speak the language of dreams.
It’s a cryptic language that forces you to “see through a glass dimly” but one day, your fluency in dreaming will open doors for you that you never imagined possible. The hurt will begin to dim as your dreams shine brightly ahead of you.
During this time of darkness, brush off your dreams. I dare you... dream again.
