Two Panes of Glass and Ditches.

A wise man (Andrew Bentley) said he always view things in life through two panes of glass, and with the knowledge there are ditches on both sides of the road.

Panes of glass
1. A mirror to see myself and what I can change about myself to help the circumstance
2. A window to look into the situation to assess, learn and grow

Ditches
1. There are dangers on the extreme of your side or position
1. There are dangers on the extreme of the other side or position

This is so true. In all situations, challenges and circumstances of life, there are things to learn and improve about oneself and there are things to learn about others and things outside of ones self. There are also dangers on the extreme of either side of almost every issue, including the side or position you are taking.

Putting every trying circumstance we face through this filter can help us approach the circumstance in a more balanced manner.
