Changing Your Mind

For some reason that none of us have actually agreed upon... It seems that changing ones mind is not okay. I think changing ones mind is okay and actually is important. As we follow our journey through life, we learn and have wider bases of reasoning and understanding. If new information and experiences cannot shape our thinking, there is a problem.

Some things don't change. Some things do. Have an open, discerning mind to critically and analytically be open to positive change.

  1. Must you continue to think the same thoughts as I?

Ive heard that it is hypocritical or even cowardly to change ones opinion, but I would say that it is cowardly and potentially hypocritical to stay close minded, and not be willing to accept fresh insight, and understanding on certain issues/situations, etc..

    Well said, brother.

  4. This topic actually scares me only because I never want to be someone who isn't open to change. The opportunity to capitalize on change that is will beneficial to me requires a level of sensitivity, awareness and engagement to what's happening around me... It's only in the past couple of years I've realized this and am still working on it.

Nature teaches us. The flowers tell us change is important. The way a flower blooms and the principle of growth by which it follows never changes; however, for it to fully become it must change from a seed.

From a biblical perspective I think of when Christ came to His own and His own received Him not.... What a revolution Jesus started but yet how they missed it...

    See how that scares me?

    1. It's interesting how change is a natural part of life, yet were naturally so resistant to it.

I think it's difficult to change your mind because in a way it's an admission your were wrong and there's a stigma that it's a sign of weakness. In reality it's a sign of strength though. It shows strength to be honest enough to accept change and say your previous thought/opinion/understanding wasn't the best thought/opinion/understanding.

It's frightening to change, but more frightening not to.
